My Kitchenaid mixer is exactly as I expected and at a great price. Combined with free shipping, this was a great transaction.
Will cut your baking prep time in 1/2 a MUST HAVE for a working mom that still likes to spend some time in the kitchen. Awesome product. Every feature works as advertised. Planning to order the basic attachment kit. Skip the research, Amazon.com is the best place to buy.
However, for function I give it 5 stars. I bought a Green Apple Artisan mixer 3 years ago and have LOVED everything about it, so I recently bought a Blue Willow Artisan for my niece's wedding present. Creaming butter and sugar for cakes is a breeze and the splatter shield is great. Purchased at a great price reduction during a rebate period before Christmas. The only reason I give this one 4 stars is because the painted finish has a couple of tiny pits and a tiny nub on the base and the blue color is a bit dull, (if I had it to do over I'd get this blue loving niece the "Martha Stewart Blue") - and the stainless steel band around the top was a bit loose. I bought an ice cream attachment separately so my husband is now making delicious sherbert from our farm berries. And, looks great on the counter when color coordinated with kitchen decor.
It took a number of calls to KitchenAid to remedy the problem. This one accepted the attachments I purchased separately KitchenAid KSM150PSWH Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, White. However, the opening for attachments was too small to accommodate them. The mixer I ordered from Amazon.com was a bargain. This is a top rated mixer for a reason - it's very sturdy, works extremely well, and has a number of useful attachments. All is well now. It arrived several days later. said I should be sent a new machine instead.
They were willing to exchange the mixer for a new one. When the packing material (to ship the item post-paid) failed to arrive, I called again, and was switched to the wrong dept. Some are very pricey. I do not fault Amazon. At first, they wanted me to send them the machine to them for repair, promising a return in six to eight weeks. Lucky for me, this rep. I declined because I didn't know what the problem was originally, and didn't want a repeat of the failure to use the attachments with the next machine. The mixer kneads bread dough beautifully, and slices and dices in record time.
when i applied for the rebate, it was not avaible. the product is fine. this will cause me to consider a long time before i buy again from Amazon. i bought the product for the quality and usefulness of it, also because of the reduced price with the rebate. i find i was not the only one to do this from other reviews. even though this may not have been intentional, the results were the same. bill
